Message from Tourism NI Chief Executive John McGrillen

COVID-19 has brought severe challenges for the tourism industry in Northern Ireland with job insecurity, loss of business and mounting pressure on cash-flow. Tourism NI welcomes the recent initiatives announced by Treasury and the Northern Ireland Executive including the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, a Small Business Grant Scheme and measures for self-employed people along with updates to make it easier for firms to access loans.

For our part we in Tourism NI will continue to do all that we can to support our tourism businesses at this difficult time and we strongly encourage businesses to contact us with concerns and questions through this website and helpline tel 028 95 925313.

Our team of specialist advisers can signpost to more information on the financial support packages available as well as contracts and employment law, cash-flow management, booking terms and conditions and advice for accommodation providers.

We have witnessed the best of the ‘giant spirit’ of Northern Irish people in recent weeks as our citizens have united in an unprecedented outpouring of solidarity, compassion and support for each other. Similarly the tourism industry works best in partnership and has strong and long established links across the UK, Ireland and the globe. It is these links that will deliver our recovery and growth when it is once again possible to market and promote our tourism offering and welcome visitors back.

Thank you for your support.
