Industry Workshops: People Potential

Building an attractive workplace to attract and retain talent.

About the event:

The recruitment and retention of good people into the Tourism & Hospitality sector remains a pressing concern for you, our industry. Tourism NI’s Industry Survey, November 2023, revealed that after rising energy costs, staffing was the second highest challenge heading in this year.

Tourism NI has responded with the Make it Here campaign, designed to change perceptions of careers in the sector. However, changing perceptions can only work alongside a positive working environment. We need to ensure that the employee experience in the sector is positive, building long-term careers.

To address this, Tourism NI, Hospitality Ulster and HATS joined forces to promote the Wellbeing Promise – an employee centred approach to ensure a positive workforce.

Our People Potential sessions allowed those in attendance to find out more about the Wellbeing Promise and talk to other businesses who have adopted it.

What is the Wellbeing Promise?

The Wellbeing Promise seeks to act as a signpost for both employers and their teams to access the necessary resources in existence to support best practice of wellbeing, not only in the workplace, but also supporting individuals in their wider lives.

Providing such support will enable members of our industry to reach their full potential and ensure longevity for those within our sector.
